They said on the morning news that Iran is 5 to 10 years away from producing a usable bomb and a delivery system. Meanwhile the US is giving Ahmadinejad a lot of rope to hang himself politically. There is much simmering dissent in Iran among the modern youth and Ahmadinejad seems to be attempting some sort of Iranian version of China's cultural revolution of the 1960's, this time using Islam as a rallying point. It might end up being as big a disaster as it was for China, setting them back 25 years. We will let him do this.

Better for everyone if there is another revolution in Iran and the problem is eliminated by Iranians killing each other until reason prevails.

He has already pissed off the Europeans and the Russians. When he pisses off the Chinese, then the US can get sanctions applied in the UN Security Council that could quickly bankrupt the country. At that point he could become really desparate, so the US must be ready to defend our bases and allies in the region and hit Iran hard if we get any warning of an attack.

Ahmadinejad's anti-Israeli rhetoric and attempts to revise Holocaust history have been extremely stupid. The civilized world clearly realizes that he is not a rational being. Israel has nuclear weapons, a delivery system, ruthless determination, and a history of pre-emptive strikes. Ahmadinejad might have well have just said "Israel, destroy me first".

    How stupid can he get?

I hope Europe finally realizes that Bush wasn't crazy nor a cowboy when he branded Iran as well as N. Korea as the axis of evil. Those dudes are EVIL.

There was word today that Iran wanted to pull their assets from the European banks to prevent them from being frozen. They were also trying to urge the OPEC nations to cut oil production the next two months by a certain percentage. Seems like they want to play hard ball.:dis:

If the Euros wanted to play hardball, they would freeze Iranian assets before they can be moved. We did it in '79 and the Iranians haven't seen their money yet. They could halt all business and diplomacy with Iran including buying their oil. Iran needs the money just as bad as the West needs their oil. Iran is moving the money to China who will become their principal backer. China also backs North Korea, the other nuclear rogue state and is obviously attempting to control the World economy by plaqing Western economies through these client states. Europe needs to stand up to them and to stand by US in the coming conflict.

    But the Euros are pussies.
