uhhh, it's iowa state. pick any coach and send him there and he ain't turning it around anytime soon. i could be wrong but auburn coulda done worse. he was a coordinator there under tubby for a while in case some of you forgot that connection.
He did a good job as DC of Auburn, which is why Mack Brown hired him away to be his DC Texas. I think one impressive thing that stands out about him was the he was a key part of the coaching staff of the 2004 Auburn team that finished 13-0 as well as the 2005 Texas team that finished 13-0.
He was a great DC. Too bad that's not what they are hiring him for. Iowa State was only 1 year removed from back to back 7-5 bowl eligible teams when he arrived at Iowa State. Not buying the "no one can be successful there" thing.
This is the word out of Iowa, also... I mean... too funny... not that he can't coach or win or any of that common fodder..... but having a Chizik Coin made when he got to ISU... (yes, a Chizik Commerative coin).... I mean.... oh my.... fits right in with the Auburn NC rings and stuff. This is perfect.
