And this is why we should have a home and away with you guys. http://experts.sportingnews.com/features/bestsportscities2005/bestof.html It's moments like this I wish The Sporting News was a better magazine!!:hihi:
Dont know enough about Iowa City to say anything about it. I know this is a good college town on gamedays though. It's a very exciting place. But, there are 100's of major college cities none of us have visited. Therefore, its not my place to pass judgement. All I will say is BR is def a top 5 town when it comes to College football towns. I cant say I agree with Philly when it comes to basketball though. What about any place in NC? I would have to agree whole heartedly with the Baseball town. Go Birds. I've been to my share of games at Busch and its a treat. I'll miss that place. I'm trying to make one more trip there this year. By the way, Carpenter for Cy Young. Just notched win number 16. CG 1 run.
Hey, we can be fun. Ask Jim Harbaugh if Kinnick is LOUD... that Wishagain clown must have set an NCAA record a few years ago for asking the ref to stop play 'cuz he couldn't hear. I think our 18 game home win streak has something to do with TSN even knowing where we were.
I have been there, while it ain't Ames, it isn't a patch on High Street in Columbus. Sporting News must have a new contract with the ACT testing folks and that is why they opted for lil' Cedar Rapids!
Hog wash. No place beats BR. Then again, I am very biased. I'm sure that Iowa city is quite nice, but corn whiskey has to get old eventually. Hell, I've never heard anyone, when asked where they are from, proudly proclaim Iowa City as their home.
IMO, Athens, GA has the greatest downtown scene in college. It is quite frankly insane. Something like 80 bars in 3 blocks all near each other
Dont know enough about Iowa City to say anything about it. Most Big Ten folks would say Iowa and Wisconsin have the prettiest campuses in the conference... and we're only a six pack from Rush Street in Chicago when the urge arises. It's a great place to be a student. Now if we can just get Stevie Blowdry (Mr. Indiana) to start getting us some basketball recruits.... well, anyway, you can't have everything...
