This is a big what-if and if all the stars align type of situation, but what if LSU, Arkansas, and Tenn are all undefeated going into the last weekend? Then, what if they are the last 3 undefeated teams and all represent the top 3? Can you imagine 2 straight weeks of possibly #1 vs # 2 action in the SEC? You would have 2 mini national championship games before the Sugar Bowl even took place. Then ponder this...If LSU ascends to #1 before the Arkansas game....will any #1 team have had to defend it's crown against potentially 3 number #2s in 3 consecutive games? A far fetched situation, but wouldn't it be fun?
My dad mentioned the exact same thing last week. You could potentially have LSU defeating undefeated Arkansas in Tiger Stadium, undefeated Tennessee at the Georgia Dome, and undefeated Oklahoma (or whoever) in the Sugar Bowl. I seriously doubt Ark & Tenn will make it that far undefeated (just barely made it past this weekend), not to mention our tough games ahead but it's fun to think "what if?" If that would happen, this particular LSU team would be debated as one of the best college football teams of all time.
down boys, down? Since when is it bad to play "what if?" I'm not trying to look ahead or any of that other stuff some people subscribe to not doing because "coach" said so. This is water cooler talk plain and simple. It is a neat situation that could happen, but probabaly wouldn't. Lighten up and expect banter like this to happen in a down week. But if it pleases you, We must focus solely on The gators and not enjoy all of the fun that surrounds what is turning out to be a magical seson for all involved.
sorry about that Sometimes I get just a little irritated with all the coachspeak that occurs sometimes on this board. This is a fan site geared for fun and information. I believe in both and don't want to see it turn into another board that I no longer post on because it got very nazi, very quickly.
Re: sorry about that This board will always be a fun place to visit and post. Just don't were your feelings on your selves. And never take your self to serious, or any one else to serious. It is fun to dream. :geaux:
Re: sorry about that Winners never quit and quitters never win. Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog. Theres no I in team. We have to play 'em one game at a time. The most important game of the year is the next one on our schedule.
