Sometime after end of the UGA game I read a very interesting comment by Saban. Apparently he used to favor track stars as DBs but now prefers athletes with ball skills such as former basketball and baseball players.
I wasn't thinking of anything in particular I honestly wasn't thinking of anything or anyone in particular. I just thought that it was an interesting statement and a departure from accepted wisdom on the subject.
Hatchet Tiger, you just hit on the biggest problem with Brazell. He's a track athlete on football scholarship. He needs to spend the spring with the receivers if he has ANY hopes of not being enveloped by the freshmen on the depth chart. Skyler Green, even with his wonderful broken route catch out there Saturday, will have to do the same thing. Brandon Bowe is a stud, and Craig Davis and Amp Hill will push them all from what I see. If Hill was the best of the bunch, and then Davis, and THEN Bowe, and Bowe is out there as much as he has been, then Green and Brazell need to concentrate this year, and really dedicate in the offseason... That being said, I think Bennie Brazell will be the next gamebreaker for LSU...;-)
