For comparison, in the national polls, W's job rating in Jan 2009 was: 61% to 68% disapprove

Also, anybody care to point out any positive things about GW Bush's presidency that you will always remember fondly?

He said neaux phucking way to terrorism. The weeks after 9/11, High School kids pledged themselves into Military service to do their part. The country was united for the fight, no matter it's cost. His leadership through that period was admirable such that doubt was cast upon those he ran against in how their leadership would have prevailed given the circumstances. His approval rating at the time was in the lower 90's I believe despite the boo bunnies nipping at his ankles.

This is a loaded question. Do I approve of his efforts. Depends on which part you are speaking of.
Its hard to put something into a box like that.
There are several things Bush did I wasnt happy about. Several that I was.

So I would say "Not Sure" because its a tough question to answer. I think history will prove out Bush wasnt as "Dumb" as most people made him about to be. You can already see in some of Obama's responses that he is now privvy to information that may make him think differently as well.

    Time will tell.

Yup... I have several from the Tax breaks, to having one of the most diverse cabinets in US history (An african american woman as Sec. of State). To smashing and killing terrorists and Saddam.

But one sticks out for me

    1. We havent had a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9-11 which was completely planned under the Clinton administration. That is pretty much the biggest one.

    One big positive about Bush:

He is still with the first lady that he married. He and Laura look happy together to me. Bush never got divorced, never cheated on Laura, and I think Bush was a good father to his two daughters.

I don't think one of Bush's strengths was the whole Al Qaeda thing. I felt that well before Richard Clarke, the 9/11 commision, and the Michael Moore movie all cast doubt on how Bush handled that.

You could say that about Obama as well. Which i admire.

One thing I liked about Bush. All the crap he took, all the abuse and just flat out disgusting behavior by Hollywood, the media and protesters. he never lashed out, he took it, he stuck to his convictions right or wrong and pushed forward on waht he thought was the right path. He respected their right to do that. To me that is an amazing testament.
He stood tall through all of it, when most men would have said "F it. I dont need this"

I think it says a great deal about his character that he took all the humilation on SNL, on talk shows, the constant badgering and attacks. Including on his own family and he took it with Grace.
I am proud he was our president and frankly I am proud to say he is my neighbor here in Dallas. I didnt agree with everything he did by any stretch but I do think he was an honest person, strong willed and honestly loved this country, even though the majority of it continually spit in his face.
    Clinton. Not so much....

    "the Michael Moore movie"
The fact your even referenced this pretty much explains everything.
Dude it was a fiction movie.

    awww... thats sad...

That would be like someone thinking Rush Limbaugh is giving them facts and balanced perspective.
Note : Batman really doesnt exist. Also fiction.....

    #1. Phuck Michael Moore

#2. My comment reflected a national response to his approval rating at that very moment. The country was at it's very best that very moment. Clinton had every right to do the same manhunt on the same guy. So what do you think Al Gore would have done? Put a parental advisory warning on a bumper sticker?

#3. PHUCK Michael Moore. I just can't say it enough.

You know man if I can make a suggestion. Put down the Michael Moore movies, stop watching MSNBC, and CNN and actually pick up a book.
It will really make your arguments stronger. You kind of destroyed your whole argument with that single statement. I am stunned you actually believed that to be fact. Even most liberals I know knew that Movie was 90% fiction.
    come on man REALLY !!!!!!

    What a downer......

Michael Moore.. Man that really ruined this whole thread.

Edit : Also, man let it go. Obama is president. Bush is no longer our president. I cannot help get the sense some of you are like "Well what do I do now?" Really move on dude....
