The Republican party has lost its way. McCain knows nothing about the economy & has no real plan to help us escape the tremendous amount of debt we are in. Palin is a great uniter for the party, but I cannot fathom the thought of her running this country - it would be a disaster.

There are 2 huge issues that are currently preventing me from chosing Obama - he wants to enact a windfall tax on big oil & raise the minimum wage, both of which I'm incredibly against. Outside of those 2 issues though, I prefer most of Obama's policies over McCain's.

McCain doesn't have to know a lot about the economy. He has to be able appoint experts to advise him and to listen to these experts and decide on a course of action. Obama's plans to punish those who create jobs and pay salaries will do a lot more harm than has already been done by renegade rating agencies and financial institutions trying to make a quick buck at others' expense.

So the Pres needs to know nothing about economy? WTF?

How the hell would he know who to choose if he doesn't know anything to begin with?

    Stupidity usually chooses stupidity.

I didn't say "nothing". Are you implying that every US President has been an economics expert? Quit acting like an idiot. Nobody, including politicians, is an expert at everything. The key is to surround yourself with the right people. Using your logic, how can Obama be the CIC when he has no military (though lots of militant), experience?

Who said anything about expert? You said he didn't need to know a lot because he will choose to surround himself with those that do know something.

Who acting like the idiot now?

Most presidents are not economists. It is more important to have a broad economic philosophy and darn good economic advisors.

His plan of action leaves a lot to be desired.

As I mentioned, this is one big issue holding me back.

However, I do like that Obama is not in big business's back pocket like the Republicans...

What a shame. You think socialism is the answer? Have you actually looked into Obama's career and the communists that he has associated with and followed and that shaped who he is?

Why do people so easily forget the damage that has been done to mankind throughout history from communist ideologies?

I'm not in love with McCain but it's more important to keep a sleeper communist out of the White House.

Republicans have proven over 8 years they aren't conservative and I'm confused why so many conservatives here so strongly align themselves with what Republicanism has become. The standard of living has fallen under Republicans and McCain will continue BS with lipservice to things that appeal to conservatives.

But many would have us believe we are slaves to the two party system; for all our freedom we can only choose between dumb and dumber.
