TE, you must really be upset if you are calling for the return of "up the middle Ed". While I agree with your description of his game against us last year, comparing it to the game he called against USC in the 87 Gator Bowl, I remember some real turkeys he called while OC at LSU. How about that thriller he called for Mickey Guidry in the 87 AMAB game? "Up the middle, up the middle, sack, punt!"

Maybe he would be better overall than Jimbo, but I don't think you can base that on one game, no matter who it was against.

Saban wanted the OL to gut it out.

IMO, Saban had been a little dissatisfied with the performance of the OL in recent games and the resulting lackluster rushing statistics. I believe he felt that if they couldn't run on Vandy that he was going to have to make some drastic changes for the end of season run. Either through personnel changes or Jimbo's game planning. He was committed to running the ball last Saturday and that's all. I am still very confident in Coach Fisher's abilities. We are in a regrouping year no doubt.
