There still seems to be a lot of media love out there for OSU, despite their anemic SOS. If they drop a game before either BC or LSU, BC will move to the #1 spot, but will they drop below LSU or other 1-loss teams?
They will fall lower than LSU (provided we keep winning), because they'd be losing to a much lower ranked team.
I don't hear much love for OSU. Everyone I hear talks about not knowing how good they are since they have yet to play anyone. The PSU game will give us a better idea. LSU will be the top ranked one loss team.
If they lose they will drop a ton. So far they've played Youngstown St., Akron, Washington, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Kent State, and Michigan State. Out of all those, Purdue is the only respectable team.
In others words the computer's weigh that 0 in the right hand column a little too much, and when it turns into a 1 they will pull a USF.
I don't see a great deal of love for them because it is always mentioned how down the Big 10 is. Everybody knows their SOS is ridiculous and the only quality teams they play are PSU and UM. IF they lose to PSU they will be low top 10. Now way they stay in top 5. Many other teams in the top 10 have played a much harder schedule. Loosing late makes you drop fast.
If the pollsters use logical reasoning, they should fall to about 7 or 8. We fell to 5 after our loss to KY on the road. Penn St. is a lower ranked team and assuming they win for purposes of this discussion, I think the margin by which the win by will go a long way in determining just how far OSU falls.
OSU is just like Wisconsin was. Everyone in the nation was just waiting for them to lose, when they finally did, Wisc. dropped from 5 to 19 in the AP poll.
