The timing of this sucks. If he left a month ago, we would have been able to choose between Spurrier and Meyer. I'd much prefer Spurrier to any coach that is available today. I wonder if there is any way we could pull him away from South Carolina (anyone know terms of buyout clause). Just wishful thinking, I guess, but I sure hope we try.

Personally, I would not want Spurrier. I don't like his attitude. I am sure we will be able to lure a good coach here when the time comes because the program is so strong and the recruiting base is so good. I'm not so sure Coach is leaving anyway.

Spurrier has no buyout clause... I have heard a rumor of him interested in LSU over USC....

Any good coach will have no buyout clause because they will get whatever they want from any college...

As I said in another thread, Spurrier does as Spurrier pleases...

We would be wise to contact Spurrier even if just to open a line of communication for another time down the road. I would love to have Spurrier at LSU - the "LSU gets no media respect" crap would be out the window and we could get down to winning a few more rings. I refuse to believe that LSU is a one hit wonder, Saban or no Saban...

We won a NC because we hired the best coach. Spurrier is the best coach right now because Stoops is not leaving Norman...

problem is, spurrier has stated he will likely be nowhere longterm. there may be no down the road for SOS beside golfing at Augusta. once he gets his free ride there, he's a gone pecone.

Don't know about you all, but I, personally, would not want a coach who just signed a contract with another school. Heck, he might bolt just as quickly from LSU if another job he prefers, like t.u. became available. No, no no, no.... :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:
