I was wondering if anyone else out there shared my personal opinion on this: I believe if Roy Kramer was still the Commissioner of the SEC, there would be no doubt that LSU would be set to take on OU in the Sugar Bowl, provided we are able to beat Georgia, of course. This is in no way a shot at current Commissioner Mike Slive, but when Kramer was around, like him or not, every time the BCS was mentioned on television the SEC was also mentioned because his name seemed to come up in the conversation or he was being interviewed by someone. I realize Kramer played a huge role in the formation of the BCS system, and only now am I starting to realize the power and influence he had over the BCS and NCAA Basketball selection process. I am just wondering if anyone out there besides me misses Roy right now?
If Roy Kramer were still Commissioner, there is NO WAY IN HELL we'd be playing Georgia. Right now, Georgia is #5. If Georgia doesn't play in the SECCG, they'd almost certainly get ONE BCS bowl. If LSU were playing Tennessee or Florida, the winner of the SECCG would get one BCS bowl and Georgia would get another. With LSU playing Georgia, the SEC is shooting itself in the foot by guaranteeing itself to only get ONE BCS bowl. In short, the SEC is GIVING $14 million dollars to the Big 12 by guaranteeing a LESS THAN WORTHY Texas team a BCS bowl. Way to go, SLIVE - YOU F*&(&*KING MORON!
