If Randall starts Saturday, there will be boos.

I don't think there will be booing from the outset just because of the fact that he is starting. I do think the boobirds will come early if he struggles at all on the first offensive series. There will be little tolerance for error, especially against a poor opponent. This actually puts pressure on Randall to perform and perform really well. Kinda unfair, but it is what it is. Will be interesting to see how he handles this added pressure.

    i think randall should start.

because---i think this team can go undefeated. but not with russell (this year). the complete absense of a running game will make every average qb look like randall did. mauck would not have looked much better. remember mauck's first through against ole miss last year. with randall, lsu has a chance in every game.

and i dont buy the argument that russell needs pt for next year. bs. with a great D, great special teams and a running game he'll be fine.

I like Russell, and do see him as the future of the team, I just have a hard time starting him for the rest of year to appease fans. Saban knows what he is doing, we don't know what is going on in player meetings or talks with Saban. Maybe Saban doesn't feel Russell is ready to start right now (he could change his mind during the season).

Anyway, my point is . . . I don't think Saban is going to do anything that would create a problem or hurt our chances at winning, out of spite for what some fans want (or to prevent booing).

I disagree with everything you just said.

The only thing I would say in Randall's defense is that they should have called some high percentage passes to get his confidence going. Play calling and the absence of Broussard in the first half was definitely suspect. But when I saw Randall basically do a jump pass (where he jumped up in the air to throw that very first pass which was intercepted), I knew we were in trouble. He had the "deer in the headlights" look all night long.

The A-holes can boo all they want ... but

They better not call into Saban's radio talk and tell him about it :hihi:

I really hope us as fans can have some respect and not boo randall.
hey he had a great game but the offense should be 2nd nature to him.
russell, what can you say SUPERSTAR SUPERSTAR but truthfully not ready to go against a georgia and florida D. But on the bright side he is practicing against the #1 D.

If Randall struggles this weekend though I might have something differ to say next week.

I will give you another perspective on Marcus Randall that makes it easy to understand.

Remember all the option QBs of the Huskers and Sooners of the 80s and early 90s? They were really talented runners who had little throwing ability. Well this is extent of Randall's ability. He would have fit in perfectly under that scheme. He is a big QB who can take punishment on the option. But when OU or Nebraska was forced to pass against great running defenses, they always struggled offensively.

This is why I said from the outset that if they try and make Randall a dropback pocket passer, he will fail under that system. This is what you saw last Saturday night. I was a bit perplexed they did it, but they must think he has more talent at throwing the ball than what the average viewer sees of him.

I will be shocked if Randall is asked to simply drop back and pass the ball this Saturday night. I look for many new wrinkles in the game plan for Randall. We shall see.

My biology professor went off on a diatribe about booing your team in the middle of his lecture today.

He was talking something about knocking Beavers on the head and then he said "Which reminds me... " then I knew what was coming.

Basically said these are kids your age that go out there and play their best and they do not deserve your boos. "You do NOT boo your Tigers."

    My teacher's great.

Someone tell that fool of a poster known as Fightin(Insanity)TIGER to explain how Andrew Whitworth's absolute PUTRID performance Saturday night had PRECISELY nothing to do with our inability to run the ball.

Please ask him to explain how little our wideouts (that I'm watching RIGHT NOW on the replay!) not sustaining their blocks for even a TWO count downfield-if attempting to block downfield at all-had PRECISELY nothing to do with our inability to run the ball?

This guy is so myopic that he'd have you believe that the playcalling-which was horrendous and even had Jimbo Fisher himself in the public castigating himself for poor playcalling-wasn't to blame. The offensive line's absolutely performance-which was horrible-wasn't to blame. Having our top returning wideout at 80%-if that-along with untested individuals-none of which are more than sophomores-had PRECISELY nothing to do with our inability to run the ball?

FightinTIGER, you would have us believe that the reason for the poor performance is totally at the feet of one individual...Thank God most of us here (outside of the enigmatic and frequently logically challenged istlstlmcdlt-who gave your goofy rear end a Rep Point) know that Football is a TEAM GAME-even if the TEAM is led by someone you dislike.

Russell did not play well. Vincent played like someone who has read his headlines. So did Whitworth. The new wideouts were new wideouts. They played green, and they did not block downfield-which is of paramount importance in Fisher's sytem. The playcalling was atrocious...The footing was atrocious...

I lay blame on Marcus Randall...But, I lay blame equally...I've actually watched the replay for going on the 4th time (The 2nd was the late ESPN replay after Cadillac Cafe, so I don't know how much I can take from that viewing, LOL!) now...

You, I think, must take your trifocals off and listen to the opposing team's radio play-by-play.
