I've liked Gruden since his Oakland and Tampa Bay days. If I remember right, Tampa Bay won with DEFENSE. #1 defense in the NFL when they won the Super Bowl. If he rubs the NFL guys the wrong way, their lose. I say he would make a terrific college coach and what bigger college stage than the SEC!
Petrino and we keep the Chavis. Some may not like Chavis, but he has a proven record of his teams finishing in the top 10 in total defense in the country. I don't want to abandon a nasty defense. We can have both.
Please no Petrino. That schmuck would leave us in a lurch just like he has at his last two stops. And he hasn't proven he could win anywhere but Louisville, and that was mostly in CUSA. We are much better than that.
I think this was more due to the presence of Monte Kiffin(Lane's Father) who is now DC for USC. He's the King of the Cover 2 defense. I can't agree with the statements that our D was struggling under Bo Pelini. We won the NC in his last year with a top 10(and I think 3) defense. As far as Petrino goes, doesn't he run a pro-style offense? If so, I don't want him at LSU. I like the offensive style we have, we can do anything. The only pro-style offense I wouldn't be opposed to having is Saban's style of smash-mouth running.
Monte Kiffen probably is the king of the cover 2 defense, but he should have put more effort into raising his son properly.
You won't go there. The facts show that Miles is one of the most successful coaches in the game. Our last coach was amazing and Miles has done even better. You don't talk about facts, you talk about what "should have happened".
