With the fact that Fresno St played USC so tough and then lowly LA Tech may beat them that if USC loses that could drop them down to 5 or 6 in the rankings.

I almost hope if Penn St is gonna go before LSU though that USC wins so Texas can beat them.

Screw that old bastard Joe pa.

He is a senile old coot and is just getting the sympathy vote.

I remember the national media bashing LSU for playing LA Tech in '03. This weak ass team is stomping the team that gave USC all it could handle. I can't wait to see how the talking heads turn this one around to benefit USC.
I can hear it now,"USC is the reason for Fresno's slide, they broke the Bulldogs spirit. They just are not the same team anymore, blah blah blah blah blah

yeah, and the media called it a letdown game after USC. Now it's another week later, and LA Tech is smoking them at home. There's no more excuses, Fresno is not as good as the media said they were. It's looking like the WAC would be pretty competitive with the PAC-10

Just goes to show that ANY team can win or lose on ANY given day.

    Even USC and Texas.......

This is a good post. USC's close call to ND doesn't look so great after the near loss to Stanford last week, and the Fresno St. swoon makes that close game look bad, too.

So, so many are giving UCLA and their terrible defense no shot that, combined with what I mention above, USC would richly deserve to fall to at least---at least---#4.

No shame in falling from 1 to 4. Miami tumbled 7 spots after their loss to a respectable Ga. Tech team in a very late loss, and Bama fell 5 spots or so after losing to LSU, so dropping USC 3 by comparison is very reasonable...and even a very conservative estimate.
