Could someone explain to me whats going on?

USC#1 and playing in Rose bowl against Michigan instead of
    playing us??

Theres an article at msnbc saying maybe a split #1 if USC beats
    Michigan.

I don't think thier good enough to beat them but you never know.

The more articles I read all around since last night and this
morning the more clouded I get.

I thought the bcs was suppose to clear this up?

It would be so much better to have a playoff

cut 2 games out of regular season

    have conference champ games

winners play winners til the end

use the bowls for this format

Still have lesser teams play thier games

    EVERYONE WINS

We are so close to them in both human polls, that when we win the Sugar Bowl, we will overtake them in both of them...Most likely.

    15 points.....is not much

USC barely beats Michigan and we handle OU like we know we can, and those 15 points will disappear fast. Then USC can really cry after going 12-1 and not getting any part of the NC.

If Chris Perry gets 24 carries USC loses, bottom line. They didn't run him enough against Oregon and lost, and there is no way USCs D is anywhere near Iowa's. Big 10 has five 9 win teams (could ne six after a bowl) this year.

the BCS is supposed to give us an unbiased NC game, based on SOS, rankings, and QW's. I hope the confernece presidents step in and fix this entire thing. The voters are the ones who screwed the BCS this. I don't know how fair it would be to drop OU several spots to give us LSU/SC, but that is exactly what they should have done. The voters know their votes will dictate the bowls, and they knew exactly where to place the teams to get the proper outcome. Once again, I don't know how fair it is to drop #1 OU to #4 or #5 . . . but maybe they should have since Okla lost a CG and got dominated in the process. The current rankings look as if Okla lost this game early in the year. I promise if we lost to GA, we would have droped further than #4. And if SC had lost they would not be ranked in the top 4 either.

The BCS is not perfect, but it is still better than the way it used to be. Then it depended on the whims of voters who loved Notre Dame as long as they had a winning season, and bowl people who looked for the best for their bowl instead of a true NC game.

I have to agree that it should be USC and LSU in the Sugar however.

A four game playoff system for the top 4 teams might be the result of this.

Michigan is a very good team, as are the other three contenders.

It would be interesting if the winner of the Rose and Sugar played one more game.

Why not just use the average of the two human polls as the basis for picking the top 2 teams? Everyone seems to think it has to be the old system (where the #1 and #2 aren't guaranteed to play) and the current system (with crazy computer polls, arcane SOS rules, etc.). Why not stick with the human polls, but use those to have a 2 team playoff?

Note that I'm actually in favor of a 4, 8, or even 16 team playoff.

The AP and Coaches Polls are used in the calculation of the BCS, but I read that most of the computer systems do not give out their "formulas" they use to calculate the powers of the teams.

If that is true, how did they ever figure that they had it all figured out weeks ago?

Terry Bowden suggested that if the AP and Coaches polls agree on the top two teams at the end, then the BCS should be thrown out and they should be used. It would be something the fans could understand.

KSU did us no favors. OU is going to be pissed and looking to prove that they are what everyone thought they were. It's going to take LSU's A game and more. I would have much preferred to play an undefeated Sooner team.
