Canzano: Heisman hopes dead for Oregon's LaMichael James | OregonLive.com Seems like a doomsday kinda headline
I dunno, 18 carries for 58 yards in your toughest test of the entire season on national TV. I would be inclined to agree. Oregon would have to climb all the way back into the BCS title game for him to get a reprieve. That's gonna be a tough climb.
Sports opinion columnists, make me sick, especially Canzano, they stir the pot trying to get attention,... to further their career's. Havn't read the link, but seeing the headline, and knowing how he is, I'm already steaming up about his story. And that's the opinion columnist's strategy; Stir up a fuss, and improve their viewing share %.
I have no doubts that he's just trying to sensationalize the topic for more clicks, however it is still an interesting topic and there are some valid points. TBH though, I don't really care about Heisman trophies. I'd rather take the 2 crystal balls LSU has.
That may a stretch but this isn't: Tyrann Mathieu will be a SERIOUS Heisman contender in 2012. If he has a punt return for a TD and stays a consistent disruptor on Defense throughout this year he may get some chatter this year. Dude is a serious player!
I see no reason why he shouldn't be in the discussion.. Should any other running back be in the discussion without having faced LSU' defense.. He may still have a lot to say about who gets it..
