i think the real georgia team showed up today.

georgia beat us straight up last week, but, i think that they played their "typical" game against tenn this week. i really thought this poor offense would have been the offense that lsu would have faced last week. if they play their standard game vs. auburn and florida they will lose both of these games.

i'm not taking anything away from their victory last week - it was a butt whipping. lets see how they respond.

 

I think Georgia's season is mirroring ours from last year. The only difference is, their loss came to a division opponent. I think Tennessee's toughest games are behind them now and, if they win out, they go to Atlanta because they'll hold he tie breaker over Georgia.

 

That could be. There's no question that UGA was really jacked up for our game. As defending champs, that is what we should expect. So we got our asses kicked and there was no way they were going to muster the emotion against UT that they had against us. I just don't think it was possible. They would have had to have gone straight to the SECCG or NC right after beating us to sustain that mental level.

To be sure, Auburn and UT control their own destinies in the SEC, but it ain't over and I think we served notice that we won't go quietly this year. I'd like another shot at UGA in ATL this year, God-willing (Iraqi info minister has spoken).

At this point, they can only hope so. :lol:

 

The Dawgs still have to play ZOOK, Leak and the Gator clan. AND Auburn. They may drop another. Auburn could run the table, we shall see. :grin:

I like the Georgia team but believe that they can not perform on a consistent basis as well as they played against LSU. How many times will the dawg QB have the perfect game. I think the Tigers are much better than they showed against Georgia. I also think Georgia played better than even they imagined they ever could. I expect them to lose 2 more. :wink:

 

The real sad part about the UT - UGA game from my perspective is that Georgia scored three legitimate touchdowns.

But Georgia historically gets screwed in close games by the refs.
And this was no exception.

Georgia now needs to simply try to qualify for a BCS berth.

 

please tell me you aren't using the refs as the reason you lost.....


maybe you forgot about Mark Richt's continual lack of ability to manage the game-clock when the game is on the line.


I've discussed this in the past. He always seems to get lost in critical situations and I'm not sure how this happens. I've always said he has surrounded himself with some great assistants, which is what great coaches do but I think Richt is a decent coach with excellent people around him.
