USC has a speed edge and a talent edge. They are a 19 point favorite. Va Tech has an experience edge and a little bit of a size advantage. Coaching is in the comparable range but edge to USC. Intangibles today make the difference Va Tech upsets. Boy, I'm probably going to look real stupid in a few hours.

You won't look any more stupid than the "experts". Here are a few things I heard while driving to and from the supermarket today. "The Heisman trphy could come down to who wins the game invoving Chris Rix and Brock Berlin" - This little gem courtesy of Mike Gottfried. "LSU is inexperienced at receiver and they are going to have a lot of trouble with Oregon State's great defensive backs. If LSU is forced to run the ball, they can't win". -I didn't catch the name of this wizard but then the host asked about LSU winning with their defense like last year, the response was something like..."You can't win every game with just your defense...well, they did it last year, but there will be games that come down to a field goal or a turnover and you are going to lose some of those." - Now that's not really unsound analysis but I'm amazed at the apparent thinking that our offensive cupboard is bare. This same guy was going on about how this is Texas' year and he sees them and (Do I have to say it?) in the Orange Bowl. I hate to break it to these guys but I'll take LSU's receiver corps over USC's any day of the week. Back to tonight's game, it's completely ignored that Leinart has a tendinitis problem and his inexperienced offensive line may just have him scrambling all night. Frank Beamer is no dummy and he's going to have his defense coming at Leinart from everywhere. If I was a betting man, I'd be all over that 19 point line. Unless VaTech completely sucks, I'm hoping for an entertaining, down to the wire match.
I would LOVE to see VT take it to the Condoms... ...but I keep flashing back to that performance in the Insight Bowl against Cal... ...and with that D, it's gonna hafta be a helluva shootout for the Hokies to win...
