I just have to share this with all of you. I hope that you appreciate this and not feel I’m being silly. I have a granddaughter and she is not yet 2-1/2. Believe me, she already bleeds purple and gold. If I knew how to attach pictures I could show you. I have a picture of Wally from the 2000 CWS that I actually bootlegged. It’s framed and hangs on my home office door. I added the words at the bottom of the picture “Gone but never forgotten”. Hailey can talk very well. She asked me after I hung the picture, who is that Papa? I said that is Wally. Folks, there is something that attracts her to that picture. When she comes over, she races up the stairs to see Wally. If any one walks by while she is standing there looking at the picture, she say’s that’s Wally. I promise you, I only told her his name one time. It actually puts chills on me for her to respond this way. She tells me that she loves Wally. I couldn’t tell you this in person without tears. She has actually walked around the house holding the picture. She will get defensive if anyone touches the picture. Saying, that’s my Wally. It's amazing how Wally is still touching lives and of all folks...a toddler.
That's a very nice story. I'm sure Wally's family would be touched to know their son touched and still touches so many people's lives in a positive way. Thanks for sharing it with us.:tigerbase
Rex: No I'm not related. The loss of Wally touched me in many ways. I have a 19 & 21 year old. StarscreamLSU-she has her very own picture. I'm taking her to Gods country (Baton Rouge) in a few weeks to see Mike and take some pictures of her in front of the cage. Hopefully, Mike will be a little active. It's a 1200 mile trip, and well worth it. :geaux:
