Ok, I have decided to channel my energy this morning and do something constructive before going to work.
Another child is missing in Florida and sadly our children are being taken everyday in this country.
I got involved this morning and wrote the President along with my congressman, Wayne Allard and Ken Salazar.
I'm asking each and everyone of you with kids to do the same.
Go to the link I've provided then put in your zip code to the right where is says find elected officials.

Here is the letter I wrote for to the president, the letter to the congressman
    were similar.

I have written my congressman and asked them why is it that children being abducted is a national crisis and
they seem to be more concerned with
    baseball and other issues.
Our children should be our first priority
    along with people with disabilities.

I have a 4 year old and a baby in the hospital with down syndrome and am concerned and scared for them.
I don't want to let them out of my
    sight!
    I live in Aurora, Colorado

Laws need to change, we should be tougher on pedophiles.
They should have longer sentences or be in for life so they can't
get out on probation and destroy lives.

God Bless you all and God Bless America!

Are more kids being abducted or are more abductions being reported with the Amber Alert system? While I agree that I have little sympathy for pedophiles, the Federal government has more important things to work on than crime. Crime is a state matter, and is best handled by the state legislatures.

Well, I think the Amber Alert System is a pretty good example of the government doing something positive without costing a whole lot of money. More of this kind of national coordination is surely possible.

Stiffer sentences for convicted pedophiles are also needed, but must be balanced with judicious application. Laws that mandate automatic sentences can be a problem for judges and juries.

"60 Minutes" had a segment a few years ago about an 18-year-old guy who had consentual sex with his 16-and-a-half-year-old girlfriend (who he married when she turned 18). He was still convicted of statutory rape and the judge suspended the sentence due to the circumstances. However for the rest of his life the law demands that he register himself as a sex offender wherever he goes including writing a card to inform all of his neighbors. Just like ex-con pedophiles.

A judge needs to be able to suspend or give light sentences to non-violent, statutory offenders to free him to be able to really hammer violent, predatory criminals with triple-digit sentences.

Red's example is a prescient one. The law should create clear distinctions in the "sex offender statutes."

There's a world of difference between anybody having sex with a child, and a young male having consensual sex with another young female, even if she's under 18 (say they're both 16, for example.)

I am not talking about teenagers having sex, we are talking about amber alerts.
Kids disappearing from their houses, parks, schools etc.
We are talking about kids from newborns to 13 mainly?

Laws need to be more harsh, these pedophiles need to be put away before they ruin the child next store or even your own.

"the Federal government has more important things to work on than crime. Crime is a state matter, and is best handled by the state legislatures."

I don't think there is anything else more important than crime?
Surely we should be able to do 2 things at once in this country?
If the state legislatures don't do anything maybe the Feds should do something!

I know this kind of stuff happens every where, but what he hell is going on in Fla.? Is that place a pedo sanctuary or something? The little girl who got abducted yesterday is the 3rd high profile kidnapping in less than a year. I pray the outcome of her case is better than the previous two.

    Scary as hell?
I really don't remember these kidnappings happening as often throughout my
life until the last 5 years or so.
    Not like this?
    Anyone else?

I used to think that there was more good in the world than bad. But as we here more and more about cases like this every day, I'm realize that I was being naive. I know this is an understatement, but as a parent, something like this happening is THE absolute worst nightmare. I agree with SDM on this one. Punishment for these pieces of sh!t is unbelievable. Did you guys know that the fukin dirtball that murdered Jessica Lunsford worked as a maintenance man at her school?!? Nice background check. He should have never been let out of JAIL, let alone being hired to work at an elementary school! I believe they should be executed in every case where they're convicted. Not just for murders either, but for sexual assault as well.

LOL, You may not agree with this one!
I think the morale decay of our society started with the separation of church and state, Public schools, etc.
If you teach evolution and don't have a proper balance such as teaching of creation,
    Religion.

Its very simple at least to me, People don't have anyone to look up too without a creator being in their lives.
If people follow for instance the christian faith, they won't have as much temptation
in their lives and if they do something wrong they fill guilty and have a conscious versus a monster that anything goes.

Another thing, When you look at the kids from Columbine, etc, a lot of kids turn out to
be monsters because the parents are just too busy to know what is going on with their
kids, parents aren't responsible to their children.
I was teased in school and I didn't kill anyone, most of us were teased at some time
or another and got by just fine.
