In the midst of the darkest period of their sports history, they are making an investment for the future. They are expanding the fball complex etc... They know that it won't stay bad forever and they are putting themselves in position to make the most of it when things return to normal, or is it abnormal considering the past 2 yrs. I think they are making a good decision and in 3 or 4 yrs. if not sooner, they'll be where they've always been, with the slight exception of trying to catch-up with a Tiger, LSU that is.
My dad's from the Huntsville area I've got about 1/2 for Bama, and the others for Auburn. During Iron Bowl week they don't talk to each other. Of course I attended LSU and so am the black sheep, ha! When we win, I like going to N. Al.
There is a great article in the Morning Advocate today about the facility upgrade at Bama. Worth a read.
Some of our problems come from the ULL problem. They want to stick their hand in everything and also like to claim that big bad LSU steals money from other state universities. Why can't they model themselves after a school like NSU or McNeese? These schools are very succesful at the 1-AA level. Do they not understand that they will still be able to make the major tournys in sports like baseball and basketball even when they are in 1-AA. They are actually competitive somewhat in baseball so do what is best of the atheletic dept as a whole, MOVE DOWN and take ULM with you.
