The Tigers will win out, beat Florida in the SEC championship game and have the best BCS number of them all." " The strength of the SEC means that by December, LSU's loss to Kentucky last week will have the same impact as Florida's loss to Auburn last season: none." Still Geauxing to win the Nat Champ! :thumb: :crystal:
Thanks for posting a link. That was a very interesting read indeed. Our Tigers have their work cut out for them.
I tend to agree...most of the naysayers don't know the quality of this team just from watching it a few times so I think we will do OK... Now I will say this...most of us were in agreement with a loss at the beginning of the season and we also were pretty much in agreement with the fact that we would need to stay healthy. We've taken some licks and I think the injuries hurt us against Kentucky. Matt is still a bit gimpy and I doubt Doucet can get back into a rhythm in one game. I like our chances since we did hit the meat of the schedule with some key players out/less than 100% so I think if we get past Auburn the rest of them can heal or the replacements get better with each game. We should be hitting on all 8 by post season again.
"Notre Dame has morphed into something closely resembling Duke -- and that might be insulting the Blue Devils." Ouch!!!
If you really think about our season so far, it is very much comparable to Florida's season last year. The idea that we're gonna be so battle tested by the time we get to atlanta and then new orleans gets me giddy.
Our key to success will be getting everyone back to 100% over the 2 weeks after Auburn. But I am conident we have more than enough to beat Auburn at home.
Outside of La. Tech we have a tough road to get to the NC game. I am not even sure at this point we should even be considering it with the challenges to lay ahead. Starting with Auburn if things fall right we will be in the hunt but there is so much more football to play. I hope we can win the rest but at the beginning of the season i said 10-2 or 11-1. I hate to say it but being realistic i think we might lose 1 more. Stupid penalties, injuries, dropped passes, and lack of pressure on opposing team qb have made our team beatable. Auburn doesnt usually beat itself and we are going to have to play better than we have been the past 3 games to beat them. The Kentucky defensive scheme was as passive a defense as i have seen by LSU since before Saban took over. It was almost like our defensive guys were told not to rush the qb. All they did was stand on the line of scrimmage most of the game. By the time we blitzed their offense was in the zone and we couldnt stop em. Our defensive backs were at the mercy of their qb because he had all freakin day back there. That led to holding and using their hands instead of moving their feet.
A lot of that had to do with Kentucky's snap... two step... and throw. It's hard to sack anyone or put enough pressure on a QB when he doesn't hold the ball for more than a few seconds. I think our D will be much stronger and much more dominate this week. Have faith... when we feel our backs are up against a wall we become pretty ferocious.
