Man.....You are out there eating foods foreign to us...great experience.....Here I sit eating the same ole seafood gumbo-- osysters, large shrimp, sausage, chicken, rice, celery, corn, okra, in a thick sauce, and just a "little BIT of seasoning." Tony's and our favorite hot sauce!!!!!!!!!!!! Boy---I envy you.... And all I can add for spice is a salad and french bread....Life just ain't fair..:bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: Make me sick.....what did you have?
My little bro JUST called from a dinner that he is at in BR.... He is having: Freshly fried oysters... Crawfish crabcakes... Turtle Soup... Tilapia w/ crawfish & crabmeat stuffing... :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: Yeah, I wish I was in SoLa... BUT - I bought some EXCELLENT steelhead out here last weekend, broiled it in the oven with macadamia nut oil and Smart Balance... Probably some of the best fresh salmon I've ever had since moving here...:thumb:
yeah, the best beer is definetly not in louisiana. although purple haze is awesome and is what im drinking right now actually. but man the beer here in virginia that gets imported from germany and belgium is top notch, along with the german and irish pubs.
Yeah, the micros out here are killer - I know quite a few brewers - and this fest I'm going to next weekend is gonna be AWESOME: http://www.the-bistro.com/events.htm This place in SF is pretty cool too: http://www.toronado.com/
