USC loses to Cal an unranked team, LSU loses to Florida ranked #17 in the country and one on the hottest teams right now and USC is ranked ahead of us. BCS sucks.
Yep...We've all been in a real pissy mood over that one for quite a few weeks now. Guess if the BCS computer systems won't give us the credit, we'll just have to take it and win out! :geaux:
I am really glad you brought this up. It is because the BCS cares about who you BEAT. Not who beats you. It also cares about who the teams you beat, beat. That is the major misconception about the BCS vs the normal polls that we are used to. The problem that is REALLY killing us is the SEC stinking it up in non-conference games this year. That is the real culprit. Blame Bama (OK, Northern Ill) Blame Ole Miss (Memphis, Texas Tech) Blame Auburn (USC-GT) Blame Florida (Miami) Blame Vandy(TCU-GT) Blame Miss St (Oregon-Tulane-Houston) Blame Kentucky(Louisville) The only help we have gotten so far has been Arky vs Texas and Tenn vs Miami. Other than those games, the SEC has beaten only cream puffs from crappy conferences. We need the SEC to win ALL of their remaining OOC games if we want any respect from the computers. Right now, the SEC doesn't deserve any respect from the computers. Combine LSU's horrible OOC schedule with the SEC's OOC results and you can see why LSU gets no repect from the BCS.
You have to blame us too though for letting Marshall off the hook, Western Illinois didnt even end up counting on our SOS.
That's very correct. Yeah, I definitely blame LSU also with the last phrase of my post "Combine LSU's horrible OOC schedule with the SEC's OOC results and you can see why LSU gets no repect from the BCS." LSU blew it big time by not scheduling a better OOC schedule to help ourselves and the SEC. And Tennessee Tiger, we can blame Ole Miss and Bummer. Their records against OOC affects us because they played against several teams we have already played. Remember, the computers fan out and look at the opponents of the teams you have played against. Think about how bad it is that Ole Miss lost to Memphis and Florida lost to Ole Miss and Florida beat us. Usually those cancel out with Tennessee beating Miami, Auburn beating Tennesse, and LSU beating Auburn. Throw in Northern Ill, Tulane, Houston, and TCU and it adds up. Get enough of these OOC losses and it brings the entire conference down. There aren't enough big OOC wins to counter act those losses. We need UF to beat FSU. We need USC to beat Clemson. We need UGA to beat GT.
