    Nice job!

I would have probably put Addai over Shy...

Dwayne Bowe #1 over Skyler (I think it's a breakout year for Bowe!!).

    JMHO...

You think there's a chance we might ever see Stevenson at SS??? I'd love to see Webster, Daniels, Landry, AND Stevenson out there every down! :thumb:

    depth chart

i guess everyone saw/heard Saban's comments about depth charts... well if you didn't, he told the press that they knew where they could stick them (up their a$$??) so, please don't let coach see this....

looks mostly right, but a few changes in my opinion (but hey, I've never been on the practice field to see these guys, so for what its worth...):

WR: buying into the rumors I hear that Amp has been "lazy" in his rehab, I would think that Buster and X-man would be ahead of him there.

OL: even though well-hyped, I would have a hard time moving Ryan Miller and Herman Johnson past anybody else that has been in the system already, esp Will Arnold, Paris Hodges, Wibel and Planchard

DL: similar reasoning to OL but less so, I would put Merill over most of the incoming true FR. T Washington may also be higher than TJackson and Alexander. Also, Chase Pittman must sit out this year due to transfer (so even though last on the chart, he shouldn't even be on this year's chart)

LB: Ingram & Buckells (for sure) and possibly Manuel above the incoming FR

DB: Joe Lawrence (rehab going well) is at #7 behind Prude. Sammy Joseph appealing the transfer rule??

P: toss up between CJackson & Fisher

DS: backup is Wilkerson. Zimmerman most likely to RS

Nice post rookie....sound like we got us a winner here.

Agreed on everything u just said. Stevenson is awesome, who knows he might just get that spot if Jesse Daniels does not improve from last year.

Addai and Shy is a draw IMO. Shy still got some good runs left in him. Addai will play some valuable wideout this year.

I expect to see most of the freshmen redshirted. Especially linemen, even Herman Johnson. LSU finallly has the depth that we don't have to throw freshmen in before they are ready.

    Of course if they're ready . . .

I agree about not throwing a freshman in before they are ready, but if a freshman is better than the reserve or starter in front of him you certainly don't redshirt him. The redshirt should be an afterthought as in this guy is not good enough at this point to use in the game. Can you imagine if Saban would have gone into last year saying that he wanted to try to redshirt the safeties and running backs? I feel very confident that we would not have won a national championship if he did? So, redshirt should be a last resort not what you go into the season thinking. Of course, positions like linebacker, offensive lineman, and safety are exceptions because you don't use alot of reserve unless there is an injury. But, even then, you have to make sure that they are not better than anyone you have on special teams.

I think Nick takes the opposite approach. Unless a guy earns a starting position in August, Nick will likely redshirt him unless there is an emergency that requires his presence. It's unfortunate to lose a year of eligibility just to play in a seldom-used reserve role. But Nick will put a guy in if it becomes a need.

DB Daniels was redshirted his freshman year, but when we lost our last DB to injuries in the last game of the year, Nick put him in. Daniels lost a year of eligibility, but he saved the game with a touchdown pass deflection.

I would not include O-line on that list. we will use several O-lineman during a game as well as D-linemen as they get the most exhausted.

I just don't see any depth in LSU's roster, Max

The rest of these poor SEC bastids don't have a chance :hihi:

And, we're gonna be even better in 2005 & 2006 with an unstoppable offense to match a great defense

Nick Saban is the last of the ~B~O~H~I~C~A~N~S~

    B ... end
    O ... ver
    H ... ere
    I ... t
    C ... omes
    A ... gain

red, if a guy is the best backup he's not going to redshirt him. Third string probably, unless the other candidates for third string are also true freshmen.
Last year Nick played an awful lot of true freshmen that weren't starters.
