I believe this is a done deal...it's a matter of timing. I salute Nick Saban for

bringing us to the promised land. He brought back a NC that was absent for over 40 years and a level of respectability for this program that may never be reached again. Thanks, Nick for giving us some incredible years in Baton Rouge.

Unfortunately for us I don't think we can find a better coach than Nick Saban. Is he arrogant? Without question. But he sure can back it up. I think the in roads he made recruiting in this state will be hard to beat.

    WCT,

I agree with everything you say, almost.

As for the inroads made in recruiting, they pretty much go away with the coach in my opinion. Players sign to play for a coach in most cases. A few may come because LSU is in their psyche, but not that many. If Saban leaves, we have to get a top flight coach in quick, or all the momentum we've built the last 5 years can crumble quickly.

    A Hallman, and we're toast.

You are one negative person. Even when you try to do a semi-positive message, its still negative. "may never be reached again" GRRRRRR!!! :angryfire TRY OPTIMISM. Other coaches for other teams have won National Championships year in and year out - there's no reason to believe LSU couldn't be that University with that type of coach. Saban is a damn good coach, but there are other very good coaches out there. And, lets remember, as much as we love Nick - people pretend like he won us national championships every year. Not to diss him, but he only won one. All I'm saying is, i wish everybody would quit whining - try being a little optimistic.

I'll make this my last post in the dozens of threads that are going on simultaniously. I do not think Huizenga will give up the control that Saban would command from him when he has other pretty good names on his list of PROVEN Pro coaches that would be happy just being head coach. Money is not a concern for NS and he would want to have full control over all team/player decisions, something this owner is not willing to give up.

control has already been granted if this Miami Herald hack just interviewed is not lying, making your theory obsolete. he stated it comes down to where he and his family wants to live and will be most happy. the ball is in his court.

Reports are that they've offered Saban complete control and that Saban has already contacted certain individuals to gauge their interest in joining him with the fins in the front office. If this is true, then he will almost certainly take the job. I hope not, but if he does then I wish him the best and thank him for what he did for us LSU fans! I apologize if this information has already been posted, but there are way too many posts to read!
