Obama called Kanye West a jackass. First thing he has ever said that I agree with President's opinion of Kanye West sparks debate - Yahoo! News
I also agree with Obama on this one....very strange sensation, I have to admit.:hihi: Interesting how the article pointed out the following: Agreed, and yet..... The comparison to the Reagan and Bush incidents is fair, and yet I don't remember them getting apologies from the networks. The media and Obama remind me of these old movies you see where some company Chairman of the Board walks around the offices with about a dozen flunkies in his wake. Every time he pauses to take a breath, one of the flunkies says,"You're right, JB", "You're absolutely right, JB","That's simply, brilliant, JB". :dis::dis::dis:
Probably because BO was in an interview and was talking during a portion that was allegedly "off the record". Judging from the apology, it probably was supposed to be. Bush and Reagan were caught with a mic on that they forgot about. Different situation. Although BO calling Kanye a jackass is the most likable thing he's done in my mind.
Reagan was giving a mic check before either a press conference or making a formal statement. He was not supposed to be "on the record" at the moment of making the comment. Bush wasn't even giving an interview. He got caught making an off-the-cuff comment by an open mic.
it doesnt add up that the abc reporter thought it was ok to twitter this quote. also all folks that use twitter should be rounded up and euthanized.
I actually agree with him too and don't think he went too far at all. It's about time he shows some balls and says something that actually makes sense. Maybe all of his policy decisions should be off the record also.
Thanks for the video link, Mobius. Now that I see it, I've got to admit, its even funnier than I thought. Loved BO's dry delivery of the line. But now that I've seen it, its even more like the Reagan "we start bombing in 5 minutes" episode than I previously thought. President joking around while preparing for an appearance; didn't know the mic was hot or that tape was rolling, and was just trying to be one of the guys by making a witty comment. If Reagan didn't deserve an apology, Obama certainly didn't. (I'm criticizing the network here, not the President)
