If USC and UCLA are the only two unbeaten teams when they play(ie Texas and V Tech get upset and LSU takes care of Alabama and Georgia), what happens if UCLA beats USC in a close game? Would USC drop to #3 and hopefully set the stage for LSU to play in the Rose, or would the USuCk pollsters want a rematch of USC/UCLA in the Rose Bowl? UCLA (7-0) only has @ Stanford, @ Az, Az St. and USC left. Don't see them losing until the final game. Far fetched, but statistically LSU has better chance of reaching national championsip game this year than they did at the same time two years ago. Will we ever see a playoff?

i'd think with the wins against auburn, bama and uga, lsu would be # 1 or 2 in that scenario.

UCLA is ranked 114th in rushing defense... Bush and White will put up 350 on the ground.. no chance..

That doesn't seem consistent with a number 8 ranking in the polls. You don't think the polls are being used to hype (and create revenue for) certain TV games? That would mean that the polls could be manipulated according to the agendas of the powers that be. That would mean that the polls aren't valid. That would mean we need a playoff. No, no, no, repeat after me, "The BCS is designed to bring us the best possible college football experience, they have no motive to enrich themselves over the best interest of the game, The BCS is designed to bring us the best possible college football experience, they have no motive to enrich themselves over the best interest of the game, The BCS is designed to bring us the best possible college football experience, they have no motive to enrich themselves over the best interest of the game...."

neither UCLA nor USC will win many games because of good D. they both score tons of points. UCLA may be able to outscore them.

Give up the goofy dream ... your coach "lost his load" on the sidelines of TS in the 2nd half of the Tenn game ... NO NC THIS YEAR!

Have a brass plate with those 4 words riveted into your skull to help you remember. The best this team can do it try to run the table and make that Sugar Bowl ... prolly versus Va Tech ... now there's a worthwhile dream!

Yada, Yada, yada...... You really believe the "BCS" has the control over the coaches and those on the Harris Poll, to make them vote a certain way?

I believe that most of the voters have no clue as to the relative strenghts of many teams. By media coverage slanted in the direction of choice, they can influence regional bias to prop up teams. Coaches and voters know their team, a few in their conference, and whatever the talking heads tell them. Do you think ND runs to the top of the standings because of much more than their name? Yes, they played usc a great game, but that isn't the relevant point. Some schools have to show a modicum of success to get rankings, others have to "prove" themselves. These voters are not in some detail discussion about each team every week. The votes have to be in quickly, before the NFL stage takes over for the weekend.

Please note that UCLA jumped LSU in this week's Harris Poll. The stage is being set.
Ramah is absolutely correct. NC aspirations are not realistic for this season. The Sugar Bowl is my goal.
