We are in Prairieville. They seem to think we will have 70 mph winds here (as of this post) That is not good. Rita had 45-55 mph winds (worse than Katrina for us).
If you're ever in the Pittsburgh/Morgantown area,,,,,,stop by for some hospitality. People like you (looking out for others) are an inspiration. ......Respect........
never thought I'd see the day that ole Jim would be riding out a storm NORTH of my house. sounds like you ain't too far from where I'm riding it out. I'm off Old Hammond only about a block from Sherwood.
We're in Brusly, not far from the overpass. Watching channnel nine news, looks like they think this one's gonna be worse than, Andrew, Katrina, and Rita. Definitely not a good thing.
I haven't been able to eat or sleep very well since Friday. I wish this phucker would get its sh!t together and do what ever it is gonna do. The wait is killing me. Due to make landfall in about 15 hours. Still taking dead aim at my place. Just praying there is something left to go back to when its done.
I'm working all night in the southeast area of East Baton Rouge Parish. I'll be home in Watson tryin to sleep during the day. The wife and kids are home alone tonight, makes me worried. There was a tornado warning for Livingston Parish bout an hour ago. Wind and rain pickin up on Siegen Lane right now....
Home in in southeast BR waiting on the storm pass. Unlike when K hit I was helping in a shelter that eventually took about 800 refugees at one site and about 250 rescue workers at another. I will go into work and Tuesday to start unloading relief trucks and help to distribute supplies to the affected areas. keep your head down and I pray that you and yours make it through this safely. k
