Here we go again. Still a long ways away and anything can happen, but it's tracking near us. Bad thing is, it's already near hurricane strength and it's not even in the Gulf yet.

well if it goes through the entire country of cuba like that track says, there will be nothing left when it's done.

If it is a hurricane and then spends 2-3 days over mountain-happy Cuba, I will bet you a coke that it will not even be a tropical storm by the time it gets back over water.

Granted, it could easily develop again and is something we should watch.

But that current track has it over far too much land to become a monster overnight.

Cuba's not that wide, so it will enter the Gulf and have a chance to re-strengthen once it passes over.

The mountains will knock it down a bit but it will immediately restrengthen like they do every time. And like usual, the selfish bastard will knock my pier down.

Its wind speed over Cuba doesn't matter has storms can strengthen tremendously in a few hours. Obviously it is the track that we should follow.

Katrina went from a category 3 to a category 5 in only 9 hours and it only took an hour to regain its hurricane strength after weakening over land. Not saying Gustav will develop in to a killer hurricane, just saying they can jump up on you.

Warm water with a low pressure and she builds back up. Gonna be more then just something when she comes. Minimum, a severe tropical storm hitting landfall through the gulf. Will it miss the game???
