How would you feel about this season if you were coach?

This is an idea I recently had. If I were coach I would not be satisfied with our offensive production. I would put much more passing plays into the gameplan until the receivers started holding on to the ball and JaMarcus started seeing the field better, win or lose. Against lesser teams I would focus mainly on passes and maybe even go no huddle until the passing game found some rhythm. I wouldn't put up with this weak passing attack.

What about you guys? Many of you are satisfied with the season as fans, how would you feel as coach?

Purely an assumption, but if you made it to this level of coaching, you are most likely never happy with the results. In the back of your mind you are thinking of things that could have been done better.

At the same time, I'd be proud of the defense and special teams. Chris Jackson is kicking ass. I'd just have ulcers with our passing offense. I might have ulcers right now anyway.

I too would be dissapointed in our passing game, mostly as a result of WRs dropping passes. I would not, however, force the passing attack win or lose.

Good coaches call plays that the team can execute and that gives the team the best chance of winning. If that meant running the ball 80% of the time and pissing off all the people on LSU message boards, well then that's what I'd do. The bottom line is wining, no matter how ugly it may look.

Excellent point Memphis! These guys don't get paid the big bucks for "win or lose" football. They are out there to win & call the plays necessary to get those wins.

If you were LSU's coach, we would have a losing record right now & the offense would still be dissapointing. It's not a personal attack. Just an opinion. Good coaches don't do what you are talking about, because their team wouldn't win. And that's what good coaches do - they win.

If I was an LSU coach, I would be dissapointed with the play of our WRs. I would see promise with the development of our young QB, Jamarcus. I would try to get my running game as healthy as possible. I'd like my Offensive line to have better run blocking.

As a head coach at this level, you always want perfection, so it would be hard to ever be "satisfied". I'd be happy that I made it to the SECCG (which of course includes a nice little bonus for me), but dissapointed with the loss to Tennessee - yet over-joyed with the heart the team's played with to win so many close games against good opponents.

I would be ecstatic if I was the head coach. The team is 10-1 and probably not even playing up to the full potential of the players. That allows for growth, improvement, and even better results in the future.

If LSU was 10-1 as a result of perfect execution, I would be concerned that my team had hit their limit. Such is not the case w/ LSU.

So as CLM said once, "The future is very bright."

I'd be feeling pretty good, too as I finished chewing up a bottle of Tums. I'd also be planting a bug in Cutcliffe's ear, wooing him to Baton Rouge, telling him a return to Knoxville is a big mistake and encouraging Jimbo to take a HC position after this season.
