Often times when LSU gets a quality win it is said that our opponent was overrated. Any chance that if USC wins tonight against Neb. the same will be said.....given the situation between LSU's win against VT and USC's presumed win against Neb. it will be interesting to hear how the wins are compared.
It's already started. Many USC fans claim we haven't played anyone dispite the VT thrashing. Last year, I didn't feel Arkansas was over-rated last year when USC crushed them to start the season but then went to the SEC title game (after losing to us of course). I don't think Arkansas was over-rated...but I think USC's play against Arkansas was that good (execution, etc.). This season, it's still early, and we won't know until a few more weeks pass by, but I don't think VT is over-rated right now. I think we were just that good in our play and execution of the gameplan. ...granted, if VT doesn't meet their pre-season expectations as a team in the running for their conference title, THEN I will say they were over-rated.
I thought about this a few times this week. If SC thrashes the Huskers they will get more praise than LSU did for the Tech win. If it is a close win they will talk about how great it was for SC to beat such a quality opponent on the road.
Well, VT is getting beat right now by Ohio 7-0 in the 2nd quarter. Obviously, a great deal of game still to be played but it will give the USC backers more ammo. Regardless, the game we played last week brought an avalanche of support our way and that will stick in most people's minds :thumb: :crystal: :helmet: :geauxtige :champs:
USC hasn't won yet and I don't believe they will beat Nebraska. This game has every makings of an upset special. You have Nebraska wanting to make a splash and become a top tier program again and you have USC, a team just waiting to have a let down. BTW, I don't think this USC team is as good as previous years.
We'll see what happens... I'm not a big fan of complaining about stuff before it actually happens. But I do think it's fair to say that a road game in Lincoln is a tougher test than a home game in Tiger Stadium. The way things look so far, USC will get enough tests this year that if they win 'em all, there is no question they deserve to be in the BCS title game. As opposed to Oklahoma, which has basically a 2-3 game season.
LSU vs USC - tougher schedule... thoughts? So I am watching the USC game and this announcer said he thinks USC has a tougher schedule then LSU... I say no way... thoughts... If I wasnt so drunk I Would grab the remaining schedules (with opponets W/L record & rank) and throw it in his face... sure most of our hard games are at home but we still will have to play more higher ranked teams than USC...
Re: LSU vs USC - tougher schedule... thoughts? It's really irrelevant. If we both finish 1 or 2 in the final regular season BCS polls, it will be decided on the field. If we don't, then neither one of us were the best 2 teams.
Re: LSU vs USC - tougher schedule... thoughts? Gotta love Brent Musberger, he is totally shameless. What's hilarious is literally the sentence beforehand they were talking about how FL's offence looks amazing (which it does) and then they go on to hype USC. Hello LSU will probably have to play FL twice. Brent Musberger is a homer all the way for the Big Ten/Pac 10 and he is a horrendous NBA caller. Oh well we will see hopefully we get a chance to prove him wrong.
If they don't play a conference championship game they are not in our league. Period end of discussion.
