I read an article in P&G and the public address announcer was undecided on how to announce the 2004 tigers for the home opener. Did anyone catch how they were introduced? just curious. GB :helmet:
I read that article leading up to GameDay, and I listened for Borne's call...It sounded like... "It's Saturday Night in Death Valley, and Here Come Your Fighting Tigers of LSU!" The typed word can never do it justice, but you can imagine Borne's voice washing over the concrete and cacaphony of delirious Tiger faithful yearning and anxious to see the Tigers hit the field for the first time after a National Title in better than 30 years... It was-as they say-perfect.
Borne was getting emails and phone calls from early this summer about advice on how they should be intriduced. he wasn't sure but, co- wasn't going to be in the mix.
I didn't hear the introduction but here is how it should be done: Lights dim until spotlight falls on team entering the field. "We are the Champions" plays loudly over stadium sound system. NOW! YOUR DEFENDING NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPION LSU FIGHTING TIGERS STARTING LINEUP! The players are introduced one by one as they run out of the tunnel and the spotlight highlights each play as they are intoduced.
They made a big presentation out of raising the 2003 National Champions flag in the north end zone before the game.
I couldn't hear it either, I guess it doesn't matter what he says. He needs to try and say it before the team starts runnig on the field and then we could hear.
The funniest thing he said was, "Now we will continue as if the rain had never come," after the hourlong rain delay.
