One thing I haven't seen President Bush do yet that absolutely needs to be done, and Congress needs to get on board as well. Take a chainsaw to the federal budget. Of course, that ain't happenin' this year. It's re-election time and the Prez can't afford to hack off too many other people (besides the L-cubed maniacs, who will stay in perpetual hacked-off mode as long as an evil R is in the White House) by goring their pet project or cancelling their government check. But next February, after this crap dies down and the D's have been vanquished for another four years, something needs to be done. And W and the Congress need to be studying this: http://www.heritage.org/Research/Budget/bg1733.cfm Time to get the beast under control. One more thing, Mr. President, you do have veto power. You do not have to sign a bad budget. Sooner or later, you will have to show Congress (and the RINO's in Congress who like pork as well as the liberal, "Mommy State" Democrats) who is the boss. Crack the whip a little, and all that. Yes, some will cry and complain like babies who've had their suckers taken away from them. But if you're serious about eliminating deficits, you have the political leverage to win this fight. So get cuttin'!
Pipe dream... Bush & Kerry are both thieves. They have no qualms about stealing from our children and grandchildren.
