I just signed a renewal for health insurance and it's absurd. $1,180 for a family and $414 for an individual. That is the total payment for employer and employee. Just curious where everyone else is on their rates?

Had to look at my check stub but it doesn't have the employer portion. I pay $350 a check for family.

$570.72 total for an individual. I pay $130.18, LSU pays $390.54.

Dental is an extra $28.08 a month for me, no LSU contribution.

Somewhere around $500 for family. No employer contributions because I am that employer.

(Insert smart ass SF comment here about me being young)

Yep. We have four choices. Mostly the same, similar costs, but some are better for people with big drug bills, or with kids, etc. Humana has always worked out best for me.

So your insurance is 500/month total? Is this a group plan or just your family? Must be high deductible right?
