rightists start harping on the fact that Kerry defended the Constitutional rights of "agnostics and atheists" last night, BY NAME?

Lord, help us! Kerry says atheists should have rights! He wants to ban our Bibles!

Kerry just might have sewn up the agnostic/atheist vote with that line, though. Next to Catholics, we ARE the largest single "spiritual" persuasion.

Wasn't that in the answer to the abortion question? What an odd dude, I still don't see what religion has to do with being pro-life. If you notice Kerry said he was Catholic I guess he was saying "he" was pro-life because he is Catholic. While Bush is pro-life, because he just is. Bush didn't bring religion into the question.

well, many religious people would argue that their religion teaches them that life is sacred, and only god should decide which babies should live or die. isnt that the way lots of pro-life people think?

i dont believe life is sacred, i dont care about murdering babies. but i am not religious.

also i dunno what rex means, or understand what point he is trying to make.

Sure. I'm religious, but I'm not pro-life because of it. I just think we shouldn't kill babies or atleast the government shouldn't fund it. I just didn't get his post. Kerry brought up religion not Bush.

I don't think it's right to say it's just a religious thing, I'm sure there are some agnostics or atheists that don't support abortion. I don't get why Kerry made it a atheists/agnostic vs. Christian thing. He is quite the divider.

true. i would argue that if you are not religious (and no one should be), that you should probably not believe that human life is any more sacred than say, ant life, or robot life, and therefore abortion isnt bad or wrong at all. i am sure that there are atheists who are anti-abortion, but i would probably argue that their reasoning for it is stupid. then again i argue all sorts of crazy things. for all i care they can murder fetuses by the truckload.

i definitely agree the government shouldnt fund it. i dont pay taxes so people can murder their babies. thats what charities and jobs are for.
