The anti-Shula bails out as a greasy, dishonorable coward

    BY DAN LE BATARD
    [email protected]

Angry and embarrassed, Don Shula descended from the high ground where he almost always resides, the king shamed by the slick court jester who had soiled his throne.

''He has run away from the challenge,'' Shula said of Nick Saban.

    A liar?

''It's unbelievable,'' Shula said. ``There were four or five direct statements that were blatant lies. That tells you a little bit about the guy.''

    Quitter?

''That's obvious,'' Shula said. ``He quit. He left.''

    A raging fraud?

''What other conclusion can you draw?'' Shula said. ``The guy likes to hear himself talk and then doesn't follow up on what he says.''

He is correct, thats why I said he is a complete failure as far as the NFL is concerned.
I also am a Dolphin fan but not as big a one since Dan Marino left.
They were my # 1 team most of my life!

    End of story!!

Sorry, I didn't know this was posted already. Check out the audio link for Shula's interview. Pretty scathing remarks from someone who is well respected. Saban just did himself a disfavor and looked very bad in all this.

LeBatard has really been grilling Saban on all of this. Unfortunately for Nick, he has it coming. I was surprised Mort went so easy on him tonight on ESPN. Most people seem to be pointing out the discrepencies, ahem...lies, Saban has committed over the last few weeks. That's the biggest problem with all of this. Had Nick been fired in Miami, I'd have no problem with him coming back to the SEC, even with BAMA. :cuss: But leaving after such a short period of time and lying about it is what is causing so many problems for him. Larry Brown seems to be a good analogy.

I wonder how Ms. Saban will feel about this praising the Lord stuff when some yayhoo takes the Lord's name in vain and starts to curse her husband.

    What a bad scene...

I won't be surprised if they have a few tomatoes in the front yard of their house in Miami which I am sure is well guarded.

I can't believe I didn't make the connection until I read this post. I haven't even thought about the Shula connection in all this; Saban ditches the franchise Don Shula helped build to take the job his son got fired from.
