Starting with our freshman and going up to the ones right behind our starters, how has our O-line recruiting been? I hope it's been good b/c going out and recruiting for it now, there's gonna be a 3-4 year lag before anything changes.

I hope we get T-Bob!!! He will be the anchor that holds the line! We need to start a T-Bob or bust campaign.

    One word

    Very Shatty

Not near enough numbers the last three years. Combine that with attrition and injuries, ass whippings like yesterday will soon be comon place.

Well, in Saban's last 2 recruiting classes, 2003 and 2004 (we won't count 2005 as Saban and Miles both pretty much split that class--either way--we only landed 1 OLineman in that class--Ciron Black).

    Recruiting O-linemen under Saban:

    2003
    Arnold
    Jerry Sevin

    2004
    Helms
    Holmes
    Herman Johnson
    Ryan Miller

    Recruiting O-linemen under Miles:

    2006
    Matt Allen
Phil Loadhold (even though he didn't meet admissions, he was still a commitment)
    Jacob O'Hair
    Steven Singleton
    Mark Snyder
    Zamal Thomas

So, unless you just absolutely refuse to give Miles ANY credit, then anyone with half a brain can see that Miles HAS recognized the lack of O-linemen and made it somewhat of a priority in his first FULL recruiting class. After all, Miles WAS an O-lineman himself...Just like Saban loved his DB's because that's what he was, Miles IS addressing the O-line issue.

That's great if you're just looking for numbers but the quality isn't there and no you can't count someone that will never play ball for LSU(loadholt). I thought Miles would be able to go out and recruit a ton of talent at OL given the fact that he is a former Michigan olineman, but that has not happened and it doesn't look great for this years class so far.

Ok, in terms of "quality", Saban had three 4-star players (since you brought up the fact that we can't count Loadholt, I had to take Sevin off the list too) and two 3-star players in a TWO YEAR stretch.

Miles has recruited two 4-star players and two 3-star players in his only full season of recruiting.

Not sure where you are getting your info, but according to Rivals Analysts Miles has done well.

2005 - Not Good - late in recruiting season coaching change. Only one OL-Ciron Black.

2006 - Pretty Good. #1 Ranked OG in LA. - Zhamal Thomas, #2 OG in TX - Matt Allen, #2 OG in Georgia - Steve Singleton. #2 OT in LA. Mark Snyder Mike Farrell of Rivals Recruiting talked some LSU OL recruiting on Sept. 21st. & our OL needs. First off, he mentioned OT- Mark Snyder, which surprized me a bit, said he's got tremendous upside, size & quick feet. Said a year in the weight room & he'll be a "Beast". Was extremely high on Zhamal Thomas, some schools had backed somewhat off due to grades, which he said was a mistake because he had Zhamal ranked his #4 player in the entire state. Matt Allen is a "Brawler" type Guard with a nice "Nasty streak" & Singleton a very solid player with great technique - a "Pancake" type blocker. Also mentioned current LSU commit D'Montreal Wilson as being one of the Top OT's in the entire South region. He thought we did very well last year & we solidified our Interior OL positions for the future. Wilson & Dworcyzk already committed, he thought we need 2-3 more OL.
