As the week drags on to Saturday I keep wishing it could go a bit faster so we can get to the game and finally get the answers to all these BCS questions, although we may have to still wait until 4:30 on Sunday when they make the final selection on ABC. But, then I realized. Stop and enjoy this time now as a Tiger fan. Most of us have waited an entire lifetime for this moment as a LSU football fan. Playing for a second SEC championship in three years, being ranked #3 in the country and being so close to having a shot at the National Championship in of all places, New Orleans. WOW! Just think, only three years ago when we got drilled by the Gators at home and then lost to Ole Miss. I think at that point we were 2-3 in the SEC and who would have thought that year we would be SEC Champions, kill our opponent in the Sugar Bowl and continue a solid season the following year which has led us to this magical season. Saturday will be like a roller coaster of a day. Imagine if the Tigers and Trojans both win and we have to wait until Sunday afternoon to hear our fate. No sleep. Then, if all our dreams come true and everything falls into place for us, the rest of December and into early January will be complete and total madness...a time we have waited a lifetime for and a time we would never forget...regardless of the game's outcome. Enjoy this time Tiger fans. Just ask fans of programs that were there at one time or another that wishes there were in our shoes now (Nebraska, Florida, Tennessee, Miami, Alabama, etc...) Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo TIGERS! :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug:
I can't agree with you more, RRTiger. It's a great time to be LSU Tiger fan. Our worst case scenario projects out to 12-2 and a Capital One Bowl schellacking of either Purdue or Iowa. That's not too shabby, especially when you consider that it puts us in the early driver's seat for the NC next year. I repeat this is our WORST CASE SCENARIO. I don't think it's necessary to reiterate what our best case is. Bear in mind, also, that once we get all this football business out of the way, we still have Brady's boys to look forward to, and another NC contender out at the Box will be cranking up again before we know it. Yessir, it is good to be a Tiger fan right now.
This is what it's all about, being this late in the season and STILL have a chance for the National Title.
Well said. There are things here and there that the media says that gets under my skin but overall I'm just glad we're in the conversation (and knowing we deserve to be).
Yeee Hawww!!!! hehehe I can't tell you how ready I am for Saturday night. I even worked extra hours at the beginning of the week so I'm able to take off a half a day on Friday to begin my partying. This is what college football is all about, but more importantly, THIS IS WHAT BEING A BENGAL TIGER FANS IS ALL ABOUT!!!! Go Tigers!!!! LSU 38 Pups 17
I've already warned my wife that our living room on Saturday night will be no place for the faint hearted. Geaux Tigers!!!! P.S. dothantiger, there are at least 2 people in the middle of Bama and Auburn that bleed purple and gold.
River Ridge...anymore on that rumor you heard about Saban to Atlanta? Just trying to stop and smell the roses you brought us the other day.... ;-)
Have not heard anything else, hopefully it will be just that, a rumor... my nephew will see this strengh and conditioning coach over Xmas at his in-laws so perhaps then he will hear first hand what the deal is. Well, I guess him seeing the guy depends on what bowl West Virginia goes to and when it is...he may not see him??? Just to go over quickly what I am talking about to everyone else...the head strength and conditioning coach from WV was the asst. at LSU a couple of years back. Initially he was brought into LSU by Saban. He went to WV for head trainer experience. Well, during Thanksgiving my 28 yr old nephew was visiting his in-laws in Jackson, also where this guy Jim Knowl (Sp?) is from. My newphews wife's father is an ex-QB from MissState and told my newphew he had just spoken to Knwol and Knwol informed him he may be heading to the Atlanta Falcons real soon to become the head trainer there once Saban takes the job in Atlanta. That is hear say from his father-in-law. How the conversation between Knowl and the father-in-law went is unclear. Was it, "I'm in like Flynn in Atl, Saban's got the job", OR, "just think if Saban happened to go to the Falcons, maybe I could be the head trainer there!"????? Personally, I don't see Saban going anywhere. He has the world by the balls in Baton Rouge. He could run for governor in 2007 and win in the primary. Hopefully it isn't that he feels he has accomplished what he wanted too in college and now he wants to try out the NFL. I can't see it. However, if I hear anything else I will be sure to post it. One game at a time, beat Georgia!
I don't think he will have accomplished what he wanted to until he wins a national championship. I think this is just the groundwork of what Saban would like to accomplish. I believe he wants to make this a dominant program consistantly before he leaves.
