What where they thinking when FoxSports.com make this list? How can they say Rick Clausen could be a top 20 Heisman candidate? If Erik Ainge is a candidate put him but don't include Clausen because he had 1 or 2 good game last year after being the 3rd string QB at Tenn. and LSU. This is a joke! http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/3628996 PS-Sorry if this had been posted before, I am just seeing it.
It's very much in keeping with Tennessee being a national threat. Rick Clausen couldn't beat out Lester Ricard! There is no way putting on the orange jersey moves a QB from 4th string at LSU to thinking Heisman. Sports writers who don't follow college football, but each other are the reason such foolishness abounds. I see Tennessee sitting dumbfounded after 5 games, having lost to Florida, LSU and Georgia. Rick Clausen Heisman... pullleeezzzeee
I suspect a lot of the Tennessee love is a holdover from the Cotton Bowl against A&M. I was at that game, and it was a complete anomaly. A&M looked as bad in execution as any team I've seen in years (not exxagerating at all) and were even flatter than that. So, Clausen & Co. looked like USC, though Vanderbilt would have put 30 on them that day.
Exactly. Clausen looked like an All-American against an inept aggy team. That's all he's proved so far.
And now you tell me Coach Fran isn't all that! Ohhh noo! What next, Mac Brown has never won a conference title?
Well, not to derail this thread entirely, I do think Coach Fran has them on the right track and should turn the program around. BUT, if that performance in Dallas is an indicator, Baylor will be a better team.
