when he doesn't even care about the lives of our troops? He manufactured evidence, ignored intelligence, and then sent our young people into harm's way on mere suspicions. His rationale now for war is that Saddam at some theoretical point in the future would want to have UN sanctions removed and then would suddenly start some WMD programs, and that our only option against such conjectural plans was warfare, despite the fact we're on the Security Council and can impose sanctions forever. Bush obviously does not agree that our soldiers should be made to fight in wars only when war is the only option, and only as a last resort. On the night he launched his war, Bush was witnessed to yell in glee that "it feels good." An ethical, moral, caring man would have felt exactly the opposite: that war feels bad, and would have been consumed with the gravity of the situation. During the occupation Bush invited our enemies to fire at our troops with "Bring 'em on", and our enemies took up that challenge. During the war Bush allowed Donald Rumsfeld to speak of our troops as "fungible" commodities, and hid the body bags and coffins as though those were never people and not even statistics worth considering. During the occupation as insurgents were raining death down upon our soldiers Bush turned his war into his own personal joke, mockingly looking under furniture for WMDs to generate laughs, as though there was anything funny about warfare on false premises. Now we learn from last Friday's debate that Bush was unhappy that we haven't found WMDs in Iraq, preferring instead, apparently, that Saddam had had those to justify Bush's own agenda. A moral man would have expressed relief that those weapons would not be used to kill our troops in mass quantities. Go ahead... vote for Bush... you know down inside that what he did in Iraq does not improve our security. You know down inside that the man does not care about our soldiers. Continue to be dishonest with yourself, and embrace the dishonest candidate. In the end you get what you deserve.
Hmmmmm........ I'm really starting to worry about Rex. He obviously has something that has caused him to be bitter and angry toward the world in general. Maybe I should play the role of "compassionate conservative" and offer a suggestion or two that will possibly provide Rex some sort of relief and allow him to enjoy life more.
That, and perhaps a little more fiber in his diet. Maybe a girl or two like those in Tirk's old avatars...even if he has to pay a few bucks for it.
I have never once seen Rex say anything about voting. Are you sure he is voting for Kerry? Is he even voting at all? Is he old enough to vote? Hell I do not know if he has ever even mentioned Kerry for that matter. Then again, I only skim his posts.
The truth is usually found somewhere in the middle. Rex is no more in left field than the rest of us. It just pisses marc off that he won't argue with him.
