I live really close to Frisco, too, though not very close to the Frisco/Little Elm/The Colony line up there off of Main Street.

But I do have to go up to my daughters' allergist's office on Lebanon next Thursday for their allergy shots.

I don't think that many people will ultimately have ebola, but I feel like the health officials in Dallas are absolute morons--but I think we locals have known that about Clay Jenkins and Zachary Thompson for a while. Thompson was on the news last night describing that all of the deputies, Patient Zero's peeps, Jenkins, and he were all in the living room of that tenement apartment.

He described the deputy as standing at least 40 feet away from the rest of them in the living room. That's a pretty BIG living room for what amounts to a housing project.

I still can't believe they didn't hospitalize those with whom Duncan was living to monitor them. Wtf?

Today, they reported that there was dried vomit in the living room of the apartment that hadn't been cleaned up. Gag...

LOL. A show of confidence. After the cameras are turned off they go through a decontamination chamber.

All except for Jenkins. He went and picked up his kids at a Highland Park elementary school wearing the same clothes and then went out to dinner with the whole family--reportedly.

Part of the unspoken truth is that he doesn't want to appear racist by keeping sick Africans in their country.

As for our people....we have sent military people into the hot zone to help. I have serious issues with using the military for this type of humanitarian effort. Think of the potential outcomes if one of them comes home and gives it to a spouse or child. Now if some within the military want to volunteer for that work, I'm okay with it.

My point was that he lied about his current health status to get the visa, and then of course lied again. He put the family in danger along with the rest of DFW metro.

It makes sense to fight this disease over there because if not contained it will surely spread. The military has the discipline to enforce protocols to protect soldiers. Mostly they will be building clinics, training local aid workers, and supporting the civilian agencies caring for the people. The Brits have also sent 750 soldiers with field hospitals.

I know what they are doing. It's still a hot zone and they will still be interacting with people who don't understand or respect protocols. They should get volunteers within the ranks. Our service men and women don't deserve that duty.

I don't know the answer, but how long does it take to get a visa approved for travel from Liberia to the US? I have to think he filled out the paperwork before he knew he was exposed. Although I suppose it's possible he took the risk of carrying that infected pregnant woman because he figured that he would be cured in the US if he did get it.

Bottom line, he lied and more than once. He lied to his fiancée. He had absolutely no concern for anyone but himself.
