...they give up seemingly 1000's of yards to Lousyville, but the Cards kicker blows a 22 yd FG early, then has the wind knock down 2 40+ yard attempts in the last 5 minutes (second miss hits the crossbar at the gun). The C-USA joke stays undefeated and hurts LSU in the computer polls of the BCS. Sad, really. NOTE: In September, TCU beat mighty Arizona by 3 points..in OT!
But wow what a finish - a couple of inches away from an upset. A nice treat for a wednesday night. Only thing messing up the mood was Trev Albert's voice
Sad thing is they will shoot up even further this week because Louisville was ranked AND had a great record, so their SOS will improve. Maybe they'll pass up some of the other teams ahead of us while there at it
I see the writing on the wall. LSU will make it to a BCS bowl, while the Horned Frogs (with that totally lame, wish-I-was-a-pro-team, no fight-song-having sound machine) will be tossed a bone and go to the same BCS bowl. Then, we're in a no-win. If we lose, we lost our BCS bowl to an inferior team. If we blow them out (we would), then our "SOS" in a bowl game would be called into question and disparaged. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see it all now...
I don't think it will happen. I think either TCU will lose, or they will pull a BYU...A team that cries that they aren't going to make a BCS bowl when they should, but get throttled in a lower bowl by a "lower" team...
According to my rock solid sources in Georgia, the 3 missed FGs by an automatic kicker should have counted for Louisville. All Georgia computers are programmed now with a TCU loss.
