Wow. Weren't you guys laughing and screaming your heads off that 'Bama would never get Saban in the 1st place? Then, once we do exactly what we said we'd do, you try and undermine the very guy who you LSU guys once worshiped. Anything to make the Crimson Tide look inferior, I guess. But hey, this is an LSU board, so the ungodly amounts of spin and bias are to be expected.
There are a couple here that have gone off the deep-end, some saying things that shock me. BUT, overall, most here are just having fun...knowing, all the time, it was a good hire and the West just stepped up a notch. Kick back and relax a tad...you'll find this to be a very entertaining forum.
Correct. I and maybe one or two others around here opined that Bama had a good shot to get Saban back around Thanksgiving time. What sold it for me is the fact that Saban repeated the statement, "I miss coaching in college." On the evening of 31 December 2006, Saban repeated that statement for the last time. I knew at that point in time that he would take the Bama job for the right money . . . Bama offered the right money, and the deal was done. I studied Nick Saban quite a bit during his years at LSU and Miami. Pardon me if I seem conceited, but, I daresay that I know this man's psychology. His regime will destroy itself from within. Nice post. I love to see the SEC get stronger. Orion should just have fun respectfully and enjoy this great board. We have a few Bama fans like Terry who have great information and it helps for debates.
And let me say this guys. I like LSU. Thats why I like hanging out here. I'm just saying that the Bama hate can get a bit irritating at times.
I really like LSU and they have kicked our ass the last few years. They have my respect, for sure. I just hope Saban can figure you guys out.
I was one who felt it could happen but thought the money wouldn't be a factor if he was not happy....little did I know the money would be there too. I also had a gut feeling because of what Terry was NOT saying. He told us to mark it down, Saban would be hired as Bama's coach but when pressed for more info. he wouldn't say.....in fact disappeared for a spell and, as far as I know, never gloated about stating such.
I was with you for the first 2. The last 1, not so much. :hihi: I suppose I could expect a ton of love on the bama board if I posted similar comments about USC as you have here. :nope: . It's all in good fun.
