The folks from VaTech who attended the game are starting to post their comments to their fellow Hokie fans that did not make the trip. It sounds like they had a great time except for 60 minutes on Saturday night.

I was terrified that there would be enough tactless people wearing inappropriate shirts/signs that ESPN would focus on before/during/after the game. I only saw one person in a bad shirt, and he took it off because so many LSU people were telling him off.

It was an awesome day, and I am glad VT could have some fun even with the game turning out like it did.

Awesome job tigers, we represented well! Everyone that gave a smile, a beer, or a burger to VT fan should be proud.

Glad to see were getting some positive feedback instead of the negatives, which is only commited by the vast minority of LSU fans. We did "tigerbait" all of the Tech fans we saw, but that can hardly be considered tactless, especially considering we offered them a beer and food (in one case directions) when they talked to us. It was a good Tech turnout and I believe you have to respect that because Virginia is not exactly a quick trip.

The tech fans that came to our tailgate party were shocked b/c many auburn and bama fans talked **** on how they will get peeed on, warned them about not going in to portalets etc. They said that we run circles around florida state and is not fair ranking us professionals against the rest of college football. Now I never have to get a hotel when going to Wash D.C.

At the Pi Kapp tailgate we invited some Hokies to play Flip Cup with us. They started out hot, going up 2-0, but we eventually came back and won 3-2

You have a fantastic team this year - once I realized that there was no way the Hokies were showing up for this game, I adjusted my attitude and really enjoyed the world-class performance the Tigers put on. That was a team and a level of performance that could beat any team in the country - easily.

I didn't come down for the game, but some of my friends did. Mostly good reports, but one guy I know - a very mild-mannered 71-year-old physician whose son played for the Hokies, came back with the entire side of his face swollen and black-and-blue. That whole side of his head looks like a giant plum. He was walking across the drill field minding his own business when some guy walked up and cold-cocked him with a coke bottle! A 71-year-old man! Geez, that's something I'd expect from West Virginia or maybe Miami, but not LSU! I guess with 93,000 people and enough alcohol, a few jerks will inevitably float to the top no matter where you are.

Another friend said the "Tiger Bait" was a bit too energetic at times (3 inches away from his face, with spittle flying, and having his hat repeatedly knocked off). It was like that for my wife and I when we went to Miami - not sure why kids have to be that way. It happens here in Blacksburg, too, and when I see folks behaving that way, I give them LOTS of crap - there are several "Jerk Alert" notices that flash on our scoreboard each game, but some folks just never learn.:dis:

OMG I can't believe that happened to that 71 year old man. That is amazing. I'm ashamed and mad at whatever "fan" did that.:po:

If this is true, then that sucks. There are jerks at every school though. If I had seen the little bastard who did this, I would've handed out my own brand of justice and guarrantee he's think 3 times before ever doing something similiar again.
