The tigers' fate is out of their hands in their bid for a Rose Bowl berth. But they could get all the help they need today. Saturday, December 02, 2006 By Ted Lewis It's not a done deal yet, but LSU fans can all but make their plans for a New Year's Day vacation in California. According to multiple sources, including a story in the Los Angeles Times, Louisiana State University will play in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 if the University of Southern California or the University of Michigan plays Ohio State University in the BCS championship game. Still, Tigers fans, who have requested more than 40,000 Rose Bowl tickets, should cheer loudly for the USC Trojans and Arkansas today. Because the only way LSU won't go to the Rose Bowl is if Florida jumps Michigan in the BCS standings and gets into the championship game. Well, if you want LSU to play UM in the Rose, it's the thing you should be doing. That win is way more important than the SECCG outcome.
I am soooo confused with who to cheer for. Am I wrong to assume that if USC loses and UF wins big that UF goes to the NC and USC will drop far in the BCS. If that is the case, then Rose might take USC and Mich, and would Sugar and Orange open? I don't know but I really can't cheer for USC. Also if USC loses and the Hogs win then wouldn't we play USC in the Rose?
Stranger things have happened but I don't see USC losing or Florida jumping Michigan UNLESS they knock Arky back into the stone age.
When you look at it...... two 1 loss teams and Florida's schedule more top heavy but the ooc games may have hurt SOS. Michigan's SOS ain't all that either but maybe more "Middle of the road" teams througout? Hell, I don't know, just looking without analzing. Their play wasn't impressive and most know, even though they ended up with more points on the bd. we are better. Any thoughts?
