I hope everyone does, its a good thing. Maybe we're all wrong and everyone still thinks we're underdogs. I guess a thing like this could only happen at LSU because if Florida State or Miami or anyone else had won last year they would be favorites. Like Nick and our football team will need any more amunition..... I guess we'll have to win the NC in football for 4 or 5 years in a row before we're favored :helmet:
I agree this is absolutely great and I hope everyone picks Gawga ahead of us. I hope the team feels slighted and disrespected. Sometimes it is hard to find the motivation needed to stay on top after such a great accomplishment like a national championship. I completely agree. I really don't want to start the season #1. We lost our starting QB, two best WR's, and two dominant players on the D-Line. I honestly wouldn't put us #1 either right now. Of course, knowing the potential of the players who will step in I could see us being a much better team next year. However, with the way the schedule sets up early, that doesn't necessarily mean we'll win it again.
Trust me, you don't really want to be selected #1. Although a compliment, it creates monster expectations and, taking nothing away from LSU's considerable talent, most 18 year olds are ill-prepared to manage the mental aspects of such laurels.

Let's give it a chance. We weren't #1 last year for preseason either. What were last year in the preseason anyway? I feel sorry for Georgia. They're probably sweatin' right now seeing that this guy put them on top of LSU.

NEWSFLASH: LSU WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. It seems like everyone has such a defeatist attitude that they can't enjoy LSU's success. Instead, everyone's obsessed with what USC is doing and saying or what writers are saying about the Trojans. I understand that everyone loves LSU, but sometimes you have to step away from the purple and gold Kool Aid and live in reality. LSU is not a runaway #1 or #2 this coming year.
