This is a HUGH What If but oh well. With all the talent that LSU is returning, IF Saban was still the head coach is it concievable to assume that we would be ranked #2 in the preseason polls? And no this was not posted to give Ramah something to talk about.
Yea probably number 2, but atleast number 3. Part of that is all of the respect Nick earned by already winning a national championship, but part of it is just having a new coach - regardless of who it is.
I think Texas is still #2, but we would be #3.. Why on Earth is Iowa so low? they return a lot of guys off a good team

"What if's" are just frustrating. What if Matt Mauck and Michael Clayton had played last year instead of going pro? LSU was two last-minute plays from finishing 11-1 in 2004. With a all-SEC quarterback and an All-American receiver, LSU could be the defending national champion this year . . .again. Nick or no Nick.
I think if Nick was still there and we had a consistent QB, we would definitely be #2. You never know what's gonna happen when a new coach comes in.
