"I've traveled to [two-time defending national champion] University of Southern California, Texas, Iowa, and Notre Dame," Herbstreit said. "And I can honestly say that this team is physically just as talented as any of those, if not better."

    Notre Dame?

Herbstreit spent one day at Iowa last week... so I'm assuming he spent one day with the Gators. How he can draw so many conclusions (or in the case of Florida..."ALLIGATIONS", hehe) is beyond me... must be the Gucci shoes.

I guess if he didn't write something, ESPN would want to check in on the whirlwind expenses he's running up.

Just keep in mind the source -- KIRK HERBSTREET.

Has he been right about ANYTHING in his 10 years at ESPN. Remember, "LSU will not win anything with Matt Mauck at Quarterback." And, wasn't Oklahoma suppose to clean our clocks in the Sugar Bowl???

Between him and Trev Albert, ESPN proves the old saying -- You don't need to be bright, smart, intelligent or know ANYTHING about what you're talking about in order to get a good/high paying job. Herbstreet and Alberts are just two pretty boys from big-name/media darling schools who have had to have sucked someone's D!CK at ESPN at some point in time to get their jobs.

They may be, but after getting spanked in their bowl game once again, and a loss to Mississippi State, I'd reserve the NC talk until after the season starts. :)

Well I would like to give props to Erik Kusilius on ESPN radio flat out saying last week that USC is not the 2 time defending champ; LSU was the 2003 champ. No if's an's or but's. That dude has got to be the best sports pundit out of all the ESPN lineup.

Florida is the hot team right now. They are a team that was a part of the elite only a few years ago, and sports analysts love to see only a few teams consistently dominate, so they are hoping Florida comes back big. They also got probably the hottest coach in the country (not necessarily the best, just the one with the most hype). All this means is a little media kiss a$$.

Anytime any of these guys says that Florida will win the SEC, much less the national championship, realize that it has more to do with having a program to hype up & less to do with actual talent.

Do you think this might have something to do with the fact that the media is up Urban Meyer's ass?

I don't see Chris Leak as a big time, big game QB. I never have and I never will.

They also lost Channing Crowder, who was far and away their best defensive player.

If we beat them IN Florida last year, then we should stomp them this year with virtually the same team.

:hihi: Seriously, this guy has probably the easiest frickin' job in the world. I can see if he atleast knew something, but that comment about Notre Dame blew it. I mean whatever; USC and Texas, maybe Iowa, I can see being teams to compare others to, but Notre Dame? :dis: Y'know, I kinda like the fact that LSU never gets attention or "respect" (uh oh!) because when a lot of these "media darling" teams fall on their asses, well....we'll have one of these :crystal:!!!!!!!
