I know someone here can help answer this little question that has been bugging me since I first noticed it. On the back of all college football helmets (and I think pro helmets too) is a short message that looks like a warning label. I am curious to know just what it says. Has anyone else ever wondered about this?
It says: SURGEON GENERALS WARNING. PLAYING WITHOUT THIS HELMUT SECURLY FASTENED TO YOUR HEAD HAS BEEN PROVEN TO CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE IN A SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE OF VIOLENT PHYSICAL COLLISIONS.
IT says something like: Use of the helmet will not prevent all serious head injuries. Do not use to spear or strike.
